The Abandoned Military base wasn't exactly swarming with people but, for Cecily, that was perfectly alright. She hated large crowds and prefered to be alone as she worked. The stove before her raging with a fire that would easily kill her if she touched it, Cecily set about making part of a breakfast for the forty seven muggles and magical people living inside the compound.
Four others worked with her. One chopped onions and saute'd seasoned potato's. Another stirred several different pots of hot cereal, using a little magic to help. Two others, muggles, washed dishes, completely used to the idea of magic.
Her eggs done, Cecily carried the overly large pot to the serving station and, with a wave of her wand, the water in the heating containers started to boil. PRessing a button on the site of the door and sticking her face near an intercom, Cecily's irish-accented voice filled the compound. They didn't have normal electricity. Everything now relied on a generator. She would have to check the petrol in it later. It had been a few days since she refilled it.
"Breakfast, everyone. We've a large day o'chores and other such tedium to attend to so lets go!"
Time to start a new day. As the muggles and wizards filed in for breakfast, she holed herself up in a corner, sitting on a table top that had been shoved against the wall. She picked up a book that had been lying nearby. One of the gardening books that someone picked up recently.
Thumbing through the pages, she was partially aware of the chattering and laughing going on, smiling as two kids ran by screaming hysterically as an adult chased them, prepared to tickle them for stealing his toast.
Why can't it always be like this?

Approaching the abandoned military base, Neville sigh with a bit of relief. He had known that this place had been used for a safe haven for a while now, but had never stopped in to see how it was run. As he made his was across what seemed to be an old airstrip, he shook his head. All of this technology was a waste. It only accomplished minimal amounts of things but the effects on the environment made them almost more hurtful than helpful.
As he near the main building, smells of breakfast emanated from the walls. This was good, as he was starved. After his trip to Hogwart's remains, he kind of ignored his stomach. Well, at least till now. He just hoped that having just one more wizard wouldnt be too much of a problem.
Grasping the door to the facility in his right hand, he swung the door open, making his way into the building. As he moved through the hallways, he brushed off the ever so common stares that he had recieved since Harry died. It seemed now that everyone knew who He, Ron and Hermoine were, and even though the reason was horrible, Neville sort of liked the attention.
As he neared what smelled like the eating area, the smell became even more inticing. As Neville walked into the room, he shrugged off the few muffled gasps that he heard as people recognised him. The room became somewhat silent as he officially made his presence known to everyone.
"Excuse me, but who's in charge here? I was wondering if I could get some breakfast. I'm starved," Said Neville as his eyes scanned the room for a response...

Cecily's eyes flitted upwards from her books, her pupils catching the light and flashing slightly. A new scent had hit her nose and it made her curious about what was going on. The only people that knew of the compound were muggles and wizards trying to fight Voldemort. She made sure of that.
SO who was this new person walking in? She stood, setting her book down and approaching as he asked who was in charge. She stopped, first caught by surprise at his question and second, he was way too familiar.
"Uh..the..the one in charge is me, I guess." She said. It had never really been discussed by the residents. She continued to stare at his face, confusion in her eyes. "You're ..you're Neville Longbottom, right?" She nodded after a moment.
"Tha's him all right!" A voice behind her confirmed happily and excitedly. Cecily remembered now. Not only had they been at Hogwarts at the same time (although she was a third year when he started attending) but his parents had trained her as an Auror.
"Food." She said after another stunned pause. "Uh, yeah..right over there. There's biscuits and gravy, about seven kinds of hot cereal, toast, jam, eggs, fried potato's. All sorts of things." She sniffed the air and grinned. "Coffee should be up shortly. We've finally perfected the art of making coffee without much electricity."

As the woman in charge identified herelf, Neville gave a casual bow, opting to just make his way to the food. However, as she asked him who he was and the person behind her confirmed it, he stopped, simply nodding silently as he continued to towards the food.
As he got up to the counter he grabbed not one, but two plates, stacking piles upon piles of food onto them. Once he was content with the two mounds of food he turned back around, realizing that almost all of the eyes in the room were still on him. It was quite odd for Neville, but he didn't mind. After all, he was one of Harry's very close friends. He just wasnt sure what people expected of him yet.
He scanned the room once more, looking for a place to sit. The only chair he saw was to his left next to the woman who was in charge. When he walked over there, he sat down his plates and took a seat. Grabbing some silverware he bagan to dig in. However, after only two bites, Neville lifted his head. Realiziing that the stares he was still recieving were making him somewhat uncomfortable.
After stuggling to swallow the large amount of food in his mouth without chewing it completely, Neville cleared his throat. Looking aroung, Neville announced, "As you were," and the many staring faces looked back at their food somewhat nervously. Finally, he could eat comfortably.
After scarfing down his first plate, Neville used his fork to wipe it clean, and stacked it under his second. As Neville shifted a bit to get more comfortable, he dug his fork into the next mound of food, but before placing it in his mouth he looke to his left at the leader of this group and asked, "And how do you know me by the way? I mean, people know who I am, but you actually seem to KNOW who i am, like I've met you before."
Neville continued to look at the woman, placing the fork full of food into his mouth and chewing while waiting for an answer...

Cecily followed Neville slightly, cautious of newcomers as usual. She watched him help himself, nodding slightly. He really must be hungry, then, if he was taking that much. He seemed to become nervous as people stared at him and Cecily understood why. By now, news of that prophecy was spreading so people were slowly looking to him as the new Hero.
But did they really have to be so rude? She was about to scare them into minding their own when Neville spoke and, calmly, got them to stop. She settled on the bench across from him, watching him eat with mild jealously. She missed food.
He asked her how she knew him and she smiled. "I was a fourth year when you were a first year. Thats one thing. Plus, I know about your parents. The person that trained me was trained by them and kept saying how he wished they were okay so they could train me. They're highly respected Aurors."

Neville pulled his forkfull of food away from his mouth as he heard the woman say that she was trained by his parents' apprentice. His mouth opened slightly as he remembered his last visit with his parents. He still had some hope that they would recover, but until then, he had to carry on strong, for them and for Harry.
As he looked over to the woman, he placed one last bit of food into his mouth, opting not to eat too much. He didn't really want an upset stomach. After he swallowed the piece of food, he asked, "What is your name? I dont really remember you, nor do I remember too much about my first years at school. All I have is this." Neville then proceeded to open the upper part of his robes, revealing two shiny pins.
Looking down at them, Neville smiled as he remembered it; earning a "Special Services To The School" badge in his first year along with Harry, Ron, and Hermoine for their first encounter with the Dark Lord. It was a truly memorable event, as it had overturned Slytherin's House Cup victory in their favor. The other he earned for the battle with Voldemort in which Harry Lost his life. It was awarded to him by George Sparewell right before the Ministry was taken over. It was a sad but honorable time for Neville, and a tear came to his eye as he thought of it.
After he quickly wiped his face, Neville proceeded in asking the woman more questions. "How does this place operate? Do you know of any other surviving friends of Harry's? Have you heard if Seamus Finnegan is still alive?" Neville sighed as he remembered his good friend, before continuing. "Have you heard anything about Ron and Hermoine? What about Ginny?"
Neville had to stop. There was so much he didnt know and it was killing him. He knew, however, that this woman was not the person to ask. All he was probably doing was overwhelming her. With a simple "Sorry," neville stood up and started making his way out of the room, ignoring the staring faces that were on him once more...

Cecily looked at the badges, somewhat admiringly. She wasnt there when he was given those badges but, from hearsay, she knew a bit about the incident involved and was somewhat proud of him. She remembered him from school, remembered how quiet and almost afraid he seemed. Apparently he quickly got over it.
He stopped eating and Cecily almost felt bad for bringing his parents up. She didn't know what it was like to lose family, even though his were not really dead just insane, and wished she had kept it to just knowing him from school.
Then, the barage of questions. "My name is Cecily Caoimhe an---" But then, after the barage, he stood and started to leave. She had upset him and for that she felt horrible. Using the speed endowned to her as a vampire, she raced and stood infront of him, holding him by the shoulders.
"Seamus was last seen in the America's trying to help out there. He's still alive and doing fine. Ron and Hermione, while alive, have kept there whereabouts very well hidden. Same as Ginny." She released his shoulders, wondering if maybe she gripped too hard. "Sorry. As for how this place runs, how about a tour? It might give you a few answers."

Neville stopped as the woman grabbed his shoulder, preventing him to leave. As she introduced herself he only nodded quietly, letting her know that he understood.
Then, just as he was about to proceed, she added that Seamus was last seen in the America's lending them a hand, and that Ron and Hermione, while alive, had kept themselves hidden. As had Ginny. They were all alive and doing quite well.
"Ah, Ginny..." thought Neville to himself. He had almost forgotten about her. He missed all of his friends quite dearly, but it seemed that after last year's incident that they had gotten a bit closer than they had been previously.
Neville was shocked by these statements. Not only that, but he was upset at them as well. While Neville was out putting his life on the line every day, the others were simply hiding. Why hadn't thay tried to contact him? He had been searching for them for quite some time. Looking down Neville just sighed. He hoped that the message that he sent to Ron made it to him.
After that, The woman who he now knew as Cecily let go of his shoulder, offering him a tour and some answers. Neville turned his head slightly, looking still upset, and added, "If you don't mind, I have some answers to find for myself right now. However, I will return one day. Until that time, I wish you the best of luck here. It is a great thing you're doing for these people. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some people to search for."
And with that, Neville gave a slight bow, exiting the room on his way to the Base doors...

Hermione walked down the streets, not quite sure where she was going or what she was doing. She felt numb from it all, the world being in total chaos and not being able to locate any of her former friends. Ron just absolutely dissapeared from sight and she feared she was now all alone in the world, which was a very uneasy feeling. She had not planned on this, the world was supposed to be alright and Harry was to be victorious.
But that just had not happened and now she was left alone with only her thoughts and memories of what had been to haunt her. Hermione noticed a base ahead that for the most part looked deserted but she knew this must be what her boss had asked her to go. She no longer questioned anything and just did as she was told, which was to mainly stay hidden until she was needed. But he had asked her to come out to this place and so she had made the trek here. As she entered the place she moved her hand to her wand, ready to act at the first sign of trouble and made her way towards a large building.
She soon found that her mind kept travelling to all of her loved ones, gone. Arthur and Molley Weasley, Bill Weasley, Charlie and George. They had all died for sure in the battle with Harrry. Where everyone else was she could not be sure but she knew she missed them all terribly. Her hand went out as she pulled open the door and had just gotten through it when a voice reached her ears that was just more then a little familiar to her.
"Neville?" She croaked out as her eyes started to scan the room for her friend. "NEVILLE!" She ran forward and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Tears of happiness forming as she had finally found someone she had been looking for. She pulled back and beamed into his face. "How have you been Neville?"

On his way out, Neville stop when he heard his name once more. Only this time, the voice was more familiar, MUCH more familiar. As he turned around he saw a face of which he never expected to see again. It was Hermoine.
Oh how he had missed her. When she rushed over to embrace him in a hug, he returned the affection, squeezing tightly to show his appreciation and his longing for the friends that he thought were lost. As tears rolled down his face, he realized that he was the happiest now that he had been since the battle. He had finally found a friend.
As they continued to hug, Neville repied to Hermoine, saying "I'm fine. I've been looking for you guys for a long time now. I thought I'd lost you too." He gave a rather large sniffle, wiping his nose on his sleeve and continuing, "Where's Ron, wheres everyone else? We need to get together to get our revenge."
Neville released Hermoine, pointing to his patch. "Im a leader of the Knight Mages now, so is Viktor. We've been slowly building another great army of wizards for a rebellion. This is one of the only places we can come to have a safe haven for the time being, but I was gonna head back to the headquarters. Would you like to come? Viktor and I will make you a member."
Neville looked back up to Hermoine, smileing one last time, happy to have her back.

Hermione frowned as he mentioned Ron. "I don't know where he is, we got seperated after the final battle and I have not seen him. I saw Ginny for a while but she went off on her own to figure things out I suppose. I know George has gone off to join the mounted devision though I don't know if he ever found Viktor or not. No I have just been alone for quite some time."
She then listened as he told her about the Knight Mages. "Well I joined them about a month ago. Your boss, Leon Klein met me when I was in hiding and asked me to join and well after what Voldemort did to my life and friends how could I say no?" She cleared her throat as her tears started to fall at the memory of lost friends. "Besides he has to pay for what he did to Harry." She said, balling up her fists in anger. "But I would love to come to the head quarters, I was actually asked to come here and that was why I am here, maybe it was for me to meet up with you."
She then looked back at her friend, greatful to have someone she knew around atlast. "I sure have missed you though Neville, and my you have grown up!" She said as she looked at him and noticed the changes in him. He was no longer the akward boy she knew but a strong and handsome man. "But then I guess we all have havent we?" She sighed.

After sighing after the mention of Ron, Neville slouched and continued on by changing the subject. He knew that Hermoine was a lot more upset about his absense than she let on, but he didn't want to bring it up any more to remind her. He simple let her keep speaking.
Neville blushed as Hemoine complimented his new looks. He had indeed grow quite a bit since they had left the school. His hair was longer and he was a few inches taller. I big change from his old stocky self. He had help out a lot of people since then. He was now able to call himself courageous, and he loved that feeling.
Neville was also glad to find out that Hermoine was also a Knights Mage. It saved the trouble of an explanation that he neither had time for, or wanted to go into. As he looked around at what everyone was reduced to, he simply shook his head. Looking at Hermoine and simplay said, "So this is it. This is all we have."
After a slight shrug he continued on, "You know that we have to do something about this. We have to stop Voldemort together. The longer we wait, the more forces he will gather and the stronger he will become. We have to travel around as quickly as possible. Victor is already searching around on his broom for anyone he recognises. We need to get any of the old Dumbledore's Army members: Cho, Parvati, Dean, ANYBODY. We just need them here."
After realizing that he was ranting, Neville stopped, looking at Hermoine with worry in his eyes. "Have any Ideas?" he asked.
